Brass is a gold tone base metal that is sometimes used in place of gold. The chains that I have used are gold plated but the wire-wrap is brass. I have worn and still wear my brass pieces. The quality I put into the brass work is the same as I put into the precious metal pieces. It is a fun way to collect unique jewelry.
